Paul Ivan Stenger, age 55, of Cross Plains passed away peacefully at his home early Monday morning. He was born the son of the late Edward and Alice (Reese) in Brookville, IN. He grew up in the Brookville area along with his brothers and sisters.
Paul attended Franklin County High School and continued to take classes after graduation to further his knowledge. He lived the American dream, after finishing school he entered the workforce. One of his early jobs involved being the maintenance director at Ponderosa in Lawrenceburg, where he would meet the love of his life Vikki (Belew). The two of them were united in marriage on May 27, 1984 and thru work and dedication build their life together.
After his first job Paul entered the banking business working his way thru to become in charge of Building and Grounds Manager and Facility Purchases. He spent nearly the last 25 years working for Friendship State Bank, where he was dedicated and considered his coworkers his family away from home.
Early on they lived in Aurora before completing their home in Cross Plains. He was passionate about his family, and this truly was his favorite thing to be involved with. Paul was loved dearly by his in laws Elvin and Faye Belew and they called him son and treated him as one of their own. Even though the countryside was his place to be, Vikki and him were able to travel various places, even visiting friends in England.
Paul is survived by wife Vikki of home, son Josh of Madison, granddaughter Lydia, along with brothers Dale Wayne (Mary) of Connersville, Edward of St Leon, and Marlin (Shirley) of Brookville. He was preceded in death by sister Doris Jean Atkins.
Graveside services for family will be conducted on Wednesday January 31, 2018 at Akers Friendship Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorials can be given to the family in care of Neal’s Funeral Home.
