Patricia “Pat” A. Schlarmann, 88 years old of St. Leon, passed away on Monday, July 7, 2025. A devoted mother of five, Pat, shared her love of cooking with her children and taught them all to be great cooks. Some of her most memorable meals were her pork chops with gravy and Spaghetti Amore. Prior to moving to St. Leon, the family lived just outside of Harrison where Pat was very involved with St. John’s Catholic Church and a member of the Ladies Sodality. She was also very involved with the Harrison VFW. Since her girls loved to play softball, she took the initiative to organize the first girls’ softball team in Harrison. When the kids were a little older, Pat went to beauty school and worked as a hairdresser in Delhi for several years. A music enthusiast, she enjoyed dancing and the challenge of getting Ben on the dance floor. Singing and painting with watercolors were some of Pat’s favorite past times and while they lived the snowbird life, she joined a choir and a painting club in Florida. She also enjoyed crocheting blankets and reading murder mysteries.
Pat will be deeply missed by her children Amy (Mike) Bauer, Terri Schlarmann, Bernie (Cheryl) Schlarmann, Mark Schlarmann, Jenny Westendorf; seven grandchildren, and five great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by Ben, her husband of 68 years; granddaughter, Molly, and parents Albert and Gertrude (Nagel) Schoenbaechler.
Services for Pat will be held on Monday, July 14 at St. Paul’s Campus of All Saints Parish. Visitation will begin at 10:00am and continue until the time of Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00am. Burial will immediately follow in the church cemetery. For those unable to attend, Mass will be live streamed at https://www.youtube.com/user/aspweeklyhomily. Memorials can be made to the St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital and will be accepted at the visitation or can be mailed to the funeral home.
