Patricia Elaine Wenning, 52

Patricia (Patti) Wenning went to be with her Lord and Savior February 5, 2018 in Greensburg, IN.  Patti was born March 3, 1965 and was a proud, lifelong resident of Greensburg.  She was the sixth of eight children to Jerome and Kathleen (Thrine) Hoeing. Patti was a 1983 graduate of North Decatur High School, where she was a cheerleader for the Chargers, and was also crowned Prom Queen her senior year. Patti met the love of her life, Brian, in 1984. They were lovingly joined in marriage on July 2, 1988. After graduation she worked at Dr. Laskowski’s dental office, Hooks Drugs, and Dr. Childress, Weimer and Weigel’s office. While working at the later, one of her great joys was working with her mother-in-law Teresa Wenning. They shared an inseparable bond, and Teresa’s influence on Patti was profound.  After the birth of her first daughter Patti decided to raise her family at home. She began babysitting for many other children as well. Her home was always full of kids, fun, and laughter. While engineering this full house, she decided to start a new career with Mary Kay Cosmetics. She became a consultant for MK in December 1991. She spent the next 26 years bringing joy and beauty to so many women’s lives. Her life blossomed with this new opportunity; she was made for this career. Patti earned a new MK car in 1998 along with many other awards and achievements. Some would say that Patti was not only a cheerleader during her younger years, but all throughout her life. She had a spirited personality and was always the fun, silly, and exciting person motivating those around her to laugh often and enjoy life. Patti was always able to spread joy to those around her. Bringing out the best in people was part of Patti’s very nature. She was always positive; always smiling. Patti loved to meet new people and discover new places. Together with her husband Brian she was able to travel to many beautiful places and put her toes in the sand while spreading her love and laughter. Patti was able to enjoy the simpler pleasures of life as well. Whether she was sitting poolside with her family and friends, working in her flower garden, or simply building a puzzle; she was happy and humble. Patti was a member of St. Marys Church and was very involved with her church family. She taught Religious Education, helped with vacation bible school, the Pictorial Directory committee, and the St. Marys festival. She served as a Eucharistic Minister, Prepare sponsored newly engaged couples, assisted with funeral and soup kitchen meals, and so much more. She participated in the Greensburg Emmaus Walk in 1995 and was an active participant in many of the following walks.  She was on the Board of Directors for ARC and the Transitional Living Center.  She had a heart for those less fortunate and these two organizations were dear to her. Patti was also an instrumental figure in getting the TLC Thrift store up and running. Patti is survived by both of her parents; her husband Brian Wenning, children; Madalyn Wenning, Indianapolis, IN, Molly (Wenning) Bayless and son-in-law Layton Bayless, Batesville, IN, sisters; Becky (Gary) Metz, Kim (Tim) Stone, Sandy (Dave) Meyer, Joan (Bill) Metz, brothers; Bob (Tina) Hoeing and Matt (Gina) Hoeing, all of Greensburg.
