Patience needed as crews work to clean roads

Indiana Department of Transportation would like to remind citizens that it takes crews approximately two to three hours to complete a full snow route. With accumulation rates this high, roads will become snow-covered and travel may be treacherous at times. Drifting snow and low visibility will be concerns throughout the morning.

If possible, avoid travel. This is for the safety of all motorists and gives crews more time and plenty of space to clear state routes. If travel is necessary, slow down and exercise extreme caution.

INDOT issued a full call-out of vehicles on Sunday, ahead of the storm. Shift changes will take place at midnight and noon until roadways improve. Please be patient with the drivers while they are working hard to keep us safe.
