Osgood man killed in US 421 crash

OSGOOD, Ind. — An Osgood man died after an accident on US 421 in Osgood.

Indiana State Police say the crash happened on Wednesday around 8:30 AM near Andrews Street in Osgood.

Police say, Gary L. Fraser, 79, of Osgood pulled onto US 421 into the path of a pickup truck being driven by Aaron M. Carroll, 37, of Holton. The vehicles collided nearly head-on.

After the collision, Fraser’s vehicle came to rest in the middle of US 421 while Carroll’s vehicle left the roadway before coming to a stop.

Fraser was initially trapped in his vehicle before being extricated. He was air-lifted to the University of Cincinnati Hospital where he later succumbed to his injuries.

Carroll was not injured in the crash. US 421 was closed for around two hours. Police say alcohol and drugs are not believed to be factors in the crash.
