Oscar M. Hughes, 88, of Florence, Kentucky, formerly of Aurora, IN, passed away Thursday, January 6, 2022, in Florence, Kentucky.
He was born November 23, 1933, in Lancaster, KY, son of the late Charles G. Hughes and Sally M. (Montgomery) Hughes.
He served his country as a member of the United States Air Force.
Oscar worked as a Real Estate Broker.
He was a former member of the Aurora Christian Missionary Alliance, now a member of the Florence Christian Missionary Church.
Oscar loved farming, gardening, and traveling, they were his passion. Spending time with his family was most important to him. He will be greatly missed.
Oscar is survived by his loving spouse of 58 years, Mary Katherine (Gatch) Hughes, children, Maxine (Tom) Faatz of Ft. Myers, FL, Wayne (Silvia) Hughes of Madrid, Dan (Leslie) Hughes of Florence, KY; Brother, Ben (Bev) Hughes of Indianapolis, IN; grandchildren, Matthew Faatz, Zachery Faatz, Caleb Hughes, Rebecca Hughes, Raquel Hughes, and Ella Hughes.
He was preceded in death by his parents Charles and Sally; several brothers and sisters, Charles (Pete) Hughes, George Hughes, Price, Hughes, Gordon Hughes, Mary Ethel and Nonia.
Private family services will be held on Tuesday, January 11, 2022.
Interment will be in the St. Paul United Methodist Cemetery, Sunman, Indiana. Military graveside services will be conducted by the Southeastern Indiana Honor Guard.
