Opal Marie (Phillippe) Ellison, 91, of Milan passed away Friday, February 4, 2022 at Manderley Health Care Center in Osgood. Opal was born on Wednesday, April 16, 1930 in Casey County, Kentucky; daughter of William F. and Clatie A. (Owens) Phillippe. She married Clyde Ellison on March 13, 1948, and he preceded her in death on July 31, 2012. Opal attended Washington Baptist Church in Elrod. She was a homemaker and enjoyed word puzzle books and watching game shows on television.
Opal will be missed by her sons Robert Ellison of Milan, Donald Ellison of Batesville, and Keith Ellison of Milan; daughters Linda (Robert) Disbro of St. Cloud, Florida and Judith Ellison of Milan; brother Earl Murrel of Osgood; several grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandson.
Opal was preceded in death by her parents, William and Clatie, husband Clyde, son Larry Dean Ellison in 1992, two sisters, and eight brothers.
Visitation for family and friends will be held from 5:00 – 7:00 PM on Tuesday, February 8, 2022 at the Laws-Carr-Moore Funeral Home in Milan. A service will be held at 10:00 AM Wednesday, February 9, 2022 also at Laws-Carr-Moore Funeral Home with Pastor Charles Miller officiating. Burial will take place in Washington Cemetery in Elrod. Memorials may be given in honor of Opal to the donor’s choice.
