Several local emergency agencies responded to a two-vehicle accident on Monday morning on US 50 at 421 located at the “Y” in Versailles. Both eastbound and westbound lanes were closed due to the accident just in front of Versailles Farm and Garden. The Versailles Fire Department says the accident involved a WalMart truck and a passenger vehicle. One person was transported to the hospital. Names and further details have not been released at this time. Other agencies responding included Versailles Fire Rescue, Ripley County EMS, the Versailles and Osgood Police Departments and the Ripley County Sheriff’s Office.
