One arrested, two stolen cars recovered after Jennings County chase

Jennings County, in. — The Jennings County Sheriff’s Department recovered two stolen vehicles and arrested an Indianapolis woman Saturday.

The report says around 4:30 p.m. police observed a vehicle disregard a stop sign at State Road 7 and County Road 300 North. When deputies initiated a traffic stop the vehicle fled. After reaching speeds of over 70-miles-per-hour she into a farm field west of U.S. 31 off County Road 500 North.

When the car stopped Myriah Sheppard, 30, of Indianapolis, and a white male exited and ran. Sheppard was captured and the male was able to getaway. At the scene, police found vehicles that had been reported stolen from the northern part of the county on June 3, 2018.

Sheppard faces multiple charges. Police are still searching for the male suspect.
