Metamora, Ind. — A Tuesday traffic stop in Franklin County resulted in a short pursuit and the arrest of a Brookville man.

Franklin County Sheriff’s deputies attempted to stop a car driven by Brandon Reese, 23, on U.S. 52 in the Metamora area for an expired license plate. Reese refused to stop and began to flee. Roberts made an abrupt turn onto Duck Creek Road, nearly striking three pedestrians. The pursuit continued for about two miles when Reese drove into a farm field. When attempted to drive through a wire fence to get back on the roadway he overcorrected and struck a tree. Reese fled on foot while the passenger, John Roberts, 23, stayed in the vehicle.

Reese was arrested for resisting law enforcement with a vehicle, criminal recklessness and leaving the scene of a property damage accident. The passenger was not arrested.
