North Decatur volleyball won 3-0 at Rushville Monday: 25-21, 25-6, 25-8. The Lions held a 17-11 lead in the first set before the Chargers rallied to win by four.
“The girls played smart and clean volleyball, winning in three sets,” said North’s Kylie Ricke. “The whole Charger team had great serving with Audrey Kennelly contributing 3 aces Caroline Stapp, Madelyn Bohman, Caroline Kennelly all had 2 aces. Stapp and Bohman led the Chargers with 12 and 10 kills respectively. Ella Kunz contributed 6 kills while Madi Allen added 4 kills.”
“We have to find a way to close out a set and then the match,” stated Rushville coach Nan Scanlan. “The varsity played one of their better games in the first set, but then it was like all the air was let out of the balloon at once. We have to get mentally tougher knowing there is still a lot of game to be played even after getting beat in the first set.”

Rushville won the JV match in three games: 22-25, 25-23 and 15-11.
For the Charger reserves, Ally Whitaker contributed 4 kills, Sydney Rohls and Kelsey Haley both had 3. Skyla Wade served 10/10 with 2 aces according to Ricke.
“I thought our Lions JV did a great job in coming back after getting beat in the first set,” said Scanlan They fought hard and battled for every point.”
