New ISP K-9 ready for duty

(Versailles, IN) – The Indiana State Police-Versailles Post District has a new K-9 ready to hit the roads.

The agency says Master Trooper Jason Hankins and his four-legged partner Oswald have graduated from the 14th ISP K-9 School.

The 12-week school consisted of over 480 hours of instruction, including narcotic odor detection, tracking, criminal apprehension, building and area searches and evidence location.

Hankins and Oswald will concentrate on criminal interdiction and being an available asset to state troopers and other Southeastern Indiana law enforcement agencies.

The ISP-Versailles Post District includes Ripley, Dearborn, Decatur, and Franklin counties, as well as Bartholomew, Jackson, Jefferson, Jennings, Ohio, and Switzerland.
