Neal Wilson, age 54, of Napoleon, passed away on June 15, 2025, at St. Francis Hospital in Indianapolis, surrounded by his loving family. He was born on June 11, 1971, in Greensburg, Indiana, the son of the late Gordon Eugene Wilson and Aileen (Hughes) Cardinal.
Neal was raised on the family farm just outside of Napoleon and never strayed far from his roots. In 2015, he and his wife Becky built a new home on the same farm where he had spent his entire life. Neal had attended Jac-Cen-Del High School and then soon entered the workforce. He spent several years working at Schneider’s Scrap Metal in Osgood and most recently dedicated the past ten years to Best Way Disposal in Greensburg.
A proud and active member of the Sons of the American Legion Osgood Post and the American Legion Riders out of Versailles, Neal had a deep respect for veterans. He enjoyed riding his Harley and led many Legion rides to local cemeteries to honor those who served. He also took pride in helping with Legion shooting events and supporting fellow members.
At home, Neal enjoyed relaxing with a good movie and listening to his extensive music playlist. He was a devoted husband, father, brother, and friend who will be missed deeply by all who knew him.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 28 years, Becky (married November 15, 1996), and their sons Lane Wilson (Brianna McCandless) and Tyler Wilson. He is also survived by his brothers Gary Eugene (Michelle) Wilson of Brookville and Robert James (April) Wilson of Delaware.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, June 18, from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at Neal’s Funeral Home in Osgood. Funeral services will begin at 6:00 p.m., also at the funeral home.
Memorial donations can be made to the Osgood American Legion in care of the funeral home. Online condolences and memories can be shared at www.nealsfuneralhome.net.
