The community of Napoleon lost a very familiar face, Myrna Jean Kohlman, age 81 passed away Tuesday, December 27, 2016 at the Columbus Regional Hospital. She was born August 2, 1935 in Miltonville, Ohio to the parents of George Earl & Mary A. Shafer Wells. She married Aloysius Meinard Kohlman on June 23, 1954 and spent nearly, the next 50 years together before his passing on May 12, 2003.

To this marriage they were blessed with 7 children. Along with raising her children, she began working for Dunbar & Bultman Dairy in Osgood. Myrna then joined BCA of Greensburg, where she worked for 35 years semi- retiring in 2000. From there, she worked for the Napoleon Locker Plant for the next 10 years.

Myrna was a long time member of St. Maurice Catholic Church of Napoleon. Her greatest enjoyment was playing BINGO……. She was known as “the Bingo Queen”, playing four nights a week somewhere in Ripley or Decatur County. On the night Myrna entered heaven, she was headed to play bingo when she had difficulty breathing. Her family insisted they go to the hospital but Myrna wanted to play bingo first, and then go to the hospital! When she wasn’t out playing she enjoyed listening and watching the Cincinnati Reds. Ona Peetz of Napoleon was her very special friend along with her precious dog Zoe!
