A multi-state police pursuit that resulted in injuries to at least one Lawrenceburg police officer ended in Dearborn County overnight.
Police say Forest Park police began an investigation after being notified the a woman stopped taking her psychiatric medicine and acting erratically. Family members told police they attempted to get her to a hospital but she would not cooperate. Police found the woman at a nearby Walmart and took her to the police station.
Since she was not in custody she was allowed to sit in the police station lobby while arrangements were being made for her care. It was then she walked out and took off in the Forest Park police cruiser around 12:30 a.m.
The suspect went west on I-275 into Kentucky, then Indiana. After police deployed stop sticks on I-275 in Dearborn County near exit 16 the woman hit them twice and crashed over an embankment. She was captured after a short foot chase and taken to the Dearborn County Jail.
The unidentified police officer drove himself to an area hospital with minor injuries.
