Ms. Jean Ann (Otter) Cole

Ms. Jean Ann (Otter) Cole, age 66, of Hanover, Indiana, native of Switzerland County, passed away at 10:21 p.m., Sunday, May 28, 2023, at the Norton Brownsboro Hospital in Louisville, Kentucky. Jean Ann was born on August 14, 1956 in Madison, Indiana. She was the daughter of the late, Donald Lee and Marian Jean (Cochran) Otter. She was raised in Switzerland County and was a 1974 graduate of the Switzerland County High School. She was a member of the Switzerland Baptist Church where she was baptized. Jean Ann studied data processing at Sullivan University in Louisville, Kentucky. Jean Ann was employed for West End Shell in Vevay, Indiana and Markland Shell Gas Station for 27 years. Jean Ann was also employed as a jailer and cook for the Switzerland County Sheriffs Department for several years. She was also employed for Belterra Casino and Resort as a baker and seamstress for three years. Jean Ann resided in the Jefferson County community for the past 12 years. She was a former 4-H leader and board member for 25 years and also sold Longaberger Baskets for several years. Jean Ann enjoyed reading, quilting and cooking, as well as, spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Jean Ann loved spoiling her faithful companion dog, Candy.

Jean Ann will be missed by her daughter, Megan and her husband, Eric Miller of Vevay, IN; her grandchildren, Julian Sample and his wife, Matty of Twentynine Palms, CA and Macie Sample of Vevay, IN; her-great-grandchildren, Kylie and Preston; her sisters, Georgia Gullion and her husband, Wayne of Vevay, IN and Vicki O’Brien of Versailles, IN; her brothers, Ronnie Otter and his wife, Lorrie of Vevay, IN and Donnie Otter and his wife, Rhonda of Moorefield, IN and her several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.

She was preceded in death by her father, Donald Lee Otter, died March 31, 2004; her mother, Marian Jean Otter, died November 14, 2010 and her nephew, Tyler Brent Rowlett, died August 18, 2018.

Visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m., Saturday, June 3, 2023 at the Haskell & Morrison Funeral Home, 208 Ferry Street, Vevay, Indiana 47043.

Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, June 3, 2023, at the Haskell & Morrison Funeral Home, 208 Ferry Street, Vevay, Indiana 47043.
