Mrs. Thelma “Joyce” (Carver) Earls, age 70, of Quercus Grove, Indiana, entered this life on August 27, 1952 on Bryants Creek near Patriot, Indiana. She was the loving daughter of the late, Robert E. and Florence (Ebner) Carver. Joyce was raised in Patriot, Indiana and was a 1970 graduate of the Switzerland County High School. Joyce was united in marriage on February 10, 1973 to Walter “Bubby” Earls in Aurora, Indiana. This union of 50 years was blessed with three sons, Brian, Clinton and Joseph. Joyce was employed as a lab technician for King’s Daughters’ Hospital in Madison, Indiana. She was also a former school bus driver for the Switzerland County School Corporation. She was later employed as a dealer for the Rising Star Casino in Rising Sun, Indiana. Joyce also owned and operated the Florence General Store in Florence, Indiana. Joyce was a former employee for SEIOC in Aurora, Indiana. Joyce was a member of the Rising Sun Church of Christ in Rising Sun, Indiana. Joyce enjoyed going to church and playing video games. Above all, Joyce loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and baking and cooking for them. Joyce passed away at 4:15 a.m., Wednesday, March 29, 2023, at The Water’s of Dillsboro in Dillsboro, Indiana.
Joyce will be missed by her husband, Walter “Bubby” Earls of Quercus Grove, IN; her sons, Brian Earls and his wife, Kristen of Aurora, IN, Clinton Earls and his wife, Traci of Vevay, IN and Joseph Earls of East Enterprise, IN; her grandchildren, Paige, Pailyn, Troy, Joseph, Jr., Brandon, Miranda, Nate, Haley, Emily, Owen and Audrey and her nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her infant son, Robert Earls; her father, Robert E. Carver; her mother, Florence (Ebner) Carver; her brothers, Mike Carver and Robert William “Bobby” Carver and her infant sister, Becky Carver.
Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. – 10:45 a.m., Monday, April 3, 2023, at the Haskell & Morrison Funeral Home, 208 Ferry Street, Vevay, Indiana 47043.
Graveside Services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m., Monday, April 3, 2023, by Rev. Mike Jones in the Vevay Cemetery, Vevay, Indiana.
