Mrs. Mary Alice (Kaiser) Hermsdorfer, age 93, of Beech Grove, Indiana, formerly of Vevay, Indiana, passed away at 5:07 p.m., Tuesday February 23, 2021, at the Beech Grove Meadows in Beech Grove, Indiana. She was born to the parents of Noel C. and Zula D. (Archey) Kaiser on June 20, 1927 in Connersville, Indiana. Mary Alice was raised in Connersville, Indiana and was a 1945 graduate of Washington High School and received her Associate’s Degree from Butler University. Mary Alice was united in marriage to Donald Walton Hermsdorfer on September 19, 1946 at the Central Avenue Methodist Church in Indianapolis, Indiana. Mary Alice and Donald shared nearly 57 years of marriage together until he passed away on January 1, 2003. In 1966, Mary Alice was employed as a typesetter for Alexander Typesetting in Indianapolis, Indiana, retiring in 1976. She was a member of the Irvington Presbyterian Church in Indianapolis, Indiana. She was a wonderful homemaker and seamstress and enjoyed knitting, crocheting as well as cooking and baking.
Mary Alice is survived by her children, Tom Hermsdorfer of Indianapolis, IN, Bruce Hermsdorfer and his wife, Teresa of Morristown, TN, Julie Crifasi and her husband, Joe of Charlotte, NC and Kathy Royce and her husband, Marty of Morristown, TN; her grandchildren, Rene, Josh, Tim, Greg and Missy; her great-grandchildren, Baylee, Aidan, Lyla, Nicholas, Patrick, Lilly, Conner, Courtney, Joel, Jake, Briana, Hope and Cash.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Noel C. and Zula D. (Archey) Kaiser; her husband, Donald Walter Hermsdorfer and her brother, William Kaiser.
