Mrs. Freda Mae (Walston) Gray, age 91, of Bedford, Kentucky, entered this life on September 20, 1932 in Patriot, Indiana. She was the daughter of the late John Madison and Opal Gertrude (Koons) Walston. She was raised in Patriot, Indiana and was a 1951 graduate of the Rising Sun High School. Freda was united in marriage on December 25, 1952 to Luther J. Gray in Rising Sun, Indiana. This happy union of nearly 56 years was blessed with seven children. Freda was a wonderful homemaker and enjoyed gardening, flowers, playing cards and watching romance shows. Freda passed away with her loving family by her side on Friday, March 1, 2024, at the Signature Healthcare in Carrollton, Kentucky.
Freda will be missed by her daughters, Donna Jean Johnson of Lexington, IN, Judy Kay Gray of Madison, IN and Melinda Gray of Bedford, KY; her sons, Michael Lee Gray of Bedford, KY, Jeffrey Allen Gray of Bedford, KY, Luther Darrell Gray and his wife, Bonnie Lou of Carrollton, KY and Timothy Wayne Gray and his wife, Jody of Madison, IN; her several grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; her brother, Roger Walston and his wife, Rita of Oxford, OH and her several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her father, John Madison Walston; her mother, Opal Gertrude (Koons) Walston; her husband, Luther J. Gray; her brothers, Roy, Wayne, Bernie, Halbert, Jay and Charles and her sister, Jeanne Campbell.
