Mr. Ralph Edwin “Eddie” Oliver, age 61, of Vevay, Indiana, entered this life on April 9, 1956 in Madison, Indiana, the son of, Ralph “Red” and Dolores (Taylor) Oliver. He was raised in Brooksburg, Indiana and was a 1972 graduate of Switzerland County High School in Vevay, Indiana. Eddie was inducted into the United States Navy, serving during the Vietnam War. He was honorably discharged in 1973. Eddie was united in marriage on August 11, 1978, in Lamb, Indiana, to Terri Lynn Wilson and to this union arrived two sons, Quinten and Clayton to bless their home. Eddie and Terri shared nearly 40 years of marriage together until his death. Eddie was employed for the US Shoe Factory in Madison, Indiana, retiring on April 14, 1991, after 12 years of service. He was a member of the Vevay Nazarene Church in Vevay, Indiana. Eddie will be remembered for his love of rock-n-roll music. Eddie passed away at 8:00 p.m., Tuesday, March 27, 2018, at the King’s Daughters’ Hospital in Madison, Indiana.
Eddie will be deeply missed by his wife, Terri Lynn (Wilson) Oliver of Vevay, IN; his sons, Quinten Oliver and his wife: Rachel of Florence, IN and Clayton Oliver of Greensburg, IN; his grandchildren, Zoie and Ethan Oliver; his mother, Dolores (Taylor) Oliver of Madison, IN; his nephew and niece, Johnny Field and Becky Lyons.
He was preceded in death by his father, Ralph “Red” Oliver, died October 20, 1992; his daughters, Jeri Dale Field Norquest, died May 26, 1991 and Sarah Beth Oliver, died November 8, 1980.
Funeral services will be conducted Friday, March 30, 2018, at 11:00 am, by Doug Preston at the Haskell & Morrison Funeral Home, 208 Ferry Street Vevay, Indiana 47043.
Full military rites and interment will be conducted by the Honor Guard of the Vevay American Legion Post #185 & the Vevay VFW Post #5396 at the Brooksburg Cemetery, Brooksburg, Indiana.
