Mr. Phillip Leon “Phil” Lozier

Mr. Phillip Leon “Phil” Lozier, age 66, of Florence, Indiana, entered this life on November 6, 1955 in Hamilton, Ohio. He was the loving son of, Estal Leon and Barbara “Colleen” (Peak) Lozier. He was raised in Bright, Indiana and was a 1974 graduate of East Central High School in St. Leon, Indiana. In the Fall of 1974, Phil received a football scholarship from Georgetown College where he attended for two years. Phil was inducted into the United States Army on April 1, 1977 in Cincinnati, Ohio and specialized as an observation scout helicopter repairman. He received the Expert Badge with M-203 Bar, Aircraft Crewman Badge, Marksman Badge with M-16 Rifle Bar and the Expert Badge with Hand Grenade Bar. Phil was honorably discharged with the rank of Specialist 4th Class on March 26, 1980 at Fort Jackson, South Carolina. On December 7, 2018, Phillip was united in marriage to Teresa Marie Hollin in Vevay, Indiana. This happy blended family shared over 10 years together. In 1982, Phil was employed in maintenance and later in production for Duke Energy, retiring in 2020 after 38 years of service. He was a member of the Florence Masonic Lodge #27 F&AM, The Murat Shrine and the Indiana Widows Sons Hiram’s Brothers Chapter #11. He was also a member of the Vevay American Legion Post #185 and the Vevay VFW Post #5396. Phil enjoyed traveling with his wife, woodworking, riding his Harley-Davidson motorcycle, camping and going out to eat. He also loved bush hogging, mowing, gardening and flowers. Phil passed away at 12:20 p.m., Friday, January 28, 2022, at the Hospice of Southwest Ohio in Cincinnati, Ohio.

Phillip will be deeply missed by his loving wife, Teresa Marie (Hollin) Lozier of Florence, IN; his daughters, LeAnn Lozier of Lexington, KY and LoriAnn Lozier of Taylor Mill, KY; his father, Estal Leon Lozier of Florence, IN; his stepsons, Scott Reeves and his wife, Melinda of Harrison, OH, Shawn Reeves and his wife, Debbie of Brookville, IN, Ryan Reeves and his companion, Jenny of Lawrenceburg, IN, Brandon Reeves and his companion, Rebecca of East Enterprise, IN; his son, Benjamin Lozier of Houston, TX; his granddaughter, Izabella Lozier; his brothers, Mark Lozier and his wife, Rae Jean of Sunman, IN and Michael “Todd” Lozier of Sunman, IN; his brother-in-law, Greg Hollin and his wife, Kathy of Bright, IN; his niece and nephew, Cassidy Graf and Tanner Lozier and his great-niece and great-nephew, Rensley Graf and Reid “Clyde” Lozier.

He was preceded in death by his son, Ryan Phillip Lozier, died May 6, 2010; his mother, Barbara “Colleen” (Peak) Lozier, died February 28, 2019; his maternal-grandparents, Clifton and Irma (Boulton) Peak and his paternal-grandparents, Thomas C. and Celia E. (Webster) Lozier.

Visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m., Wednesday, February 2, 2022, at the Haskell & Morrison Funeral Home, 208 Ferry Street, Vevay, Indiana 47043.

Funeral Services and Masonic Services will be conducted at 1:00 p.m., Wednesday, February 2, 2022, at the Haskell & Morrison Funeral Home, 208 Ferry Street, Vevay, Indiana 47043.

Interment and full military rites will be conducted by the Honor Guard of the Vevay American Legion Post #185 and the Vevay VFW Post #5396 in the Concord Cemetery, Patriot, Indiana.
