Mr. Larry Gene Turner, age 77, of Vevay, Indiana, Larry entered this life on August 22, 1944 in Madison, Indiana. He was the son of the late, Damon and Wilma Dean (Barnes) Turner. He was raised in Vevay, Indiana and was a 1962 graduate of Vevay High School. During his high school years, Larry enjoyed playing the trumpet in the band. Larry was inducted into the United States Army Reserves on November 4, 1963 in Louisville, Kentucky. He received the Sharpshooter (Rifle M-1) Badge. Larry was honorably discharged with the rank of Specialist 4th Class on October 31, 1969. In 1962, Larry was employed for Reliance Electric Company, retiring in 1995 after 33 years of service. He was a member of the Vevay American Legion Post #185 and was a former member of the Madison Moose Lodge No. 765. Larry loved his dogs and enjoyed watching TV, especially IU basketball and spending quality time with his friends. Larry passed away on Wednesday, October 20, 2021, at his residence in Vevay, Indiana.
Larry’s life will be cherished by his brother, Kenneth Wayne “Kenny” Turner and his wife, Regenia of Vevay, IN and his cousins and several close friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Damon and Wilma Dean (Barnes) Turner.
Full military rites and Graveside Services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m., Friday, October 29, 2021, by the Honor Guard of the Vevay American Legion Post #185 and the Vevay VFW Post #5396 in the Vevay Cemetery, Vevay, Indiana.
