Mr. Joseph Lowell “Joe” Hehe, age 83, of Vevay, Indiana, entered this life on November 23, 1942 in Dillsboro, Indiana. He was the loving son of the late Gilbert R. and Ruth H. (Aufderheide) Hehe. Joe was raised in Dillsboro and Switzerland County, Indiana and was a 1961 graduate of the Vevay High School. Joe earned his associate’s degree in accounting from Ivy Tech Community College in Madison, Indiana. Joe was united in marriage on June 14, 1971 to Linda Marie Osborn in Vevay, Indiana. Joe worked at the US Shoe Factory in Vevay, Indiana for several years. Joe enjoyed genealogy and collecting rocks from different states and countries. Joe was also a member of Center Square Baptist Church in Center Square, Indiana. Joe passed away at 10:07 a.m., Wednesday, April 8, 2026, at his residence in Vevay, Indiana.
Joe is survived by his wife, Linda Marie (Osborn) Hehe of Vevay, IN; his sons, Timmy Hehe of Vevay, IN, Joseph Hehe, Jr. of Worthville, KY, and Anthony “Tony” Hehe and his wife, Theresa of Worthville, KY; his daughter, Cheryl Lynn Saunders and her husband, David of Vevay, IN; his grandchildren, Steven Hehe, Charles Hehe, Joshua Hehe, Hylary Charlton, Anthony Michael Hehe, James Lawson, Brittany Layton, and Sarah McDonald; his several great-grandchildren; his sisters, Debbie Stewart of Vevay, IN, Betty Jo Pavy of Cannelton, IN, Mary Lou Furnish of Vevay, IN, Wanda Lovelady and her husband, Wayne of Marion, IN, and Ramona Shelton and her husband, Mike of Gas City, IN; his brothers, Randall Hehe of Marion, IN, and Rex Hehe and his wife, Elaine of Gas City, IN; his sister-in-law, Cathy Hehe of Leesburg, FL; his brothers-in-law, Frank Adams of Georgetown, OH, and John Osborn of Madison, IN; and his nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Gilbert R. and Ruth H. (Aufderheide) Hehe; his son, James Alan Hehe; his grandchildren, Micah Joseph Saunders, Jasmine Nicole Saunders, and Vanessa Marie Hehe; his brother, Robert Hehe; his sister, Shirley Adams; his infant brother, Roger Dale Hehe; his paternal-grandparents, John Henry and Ella (McAllister) Hehe; his maternal-grandparents, Frank W. Aufderheide, Bertha Ethel (Delap) Aufderheide, and Zella May (Warner) Aufderheide Rueter; his step-mother, Leona Mae (Huffman) Hehe; his brothers-in-law, Gareth C. Furnish, Dennis Pavy, James Russell Osborn, and Rickie Leon Osborn; and his sister-in-law, Mary Jo Taylor.
Visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m., Wednesday, April 15, 2026, at the Haskell & Morrison Funeral Home, 208 Ferry Street, Vevay, Indiana 47043.
