Mr. Harold Peelman

Mr. Harold Peelman, age 85, of Vevay, Indiana, entered this life on August 12, 1934 in Switzerland County, Indiana. He was the son of the late Herbert Lee “Herb” Peelman and Blanche E. (Romans) Peelman Martin. He was raised in Switzerland County, Indiana where he attended school and later received his welding technician degree. Harold was inducted into the United States Army on January 17, 1955 in Louisville, Kentucky. He served in the Korean War and Vietnam War and rose to the rate of Private First Class and was honorably discharged on December 31, 1962. On July 20, 1957 Harold was united in marriage to Geraldine M. Kinman in Madison, Indiana. This happy union was blessed with three daughters and a son. Harold and Geraldine shared over 62 years of marriage together until his death. Harold was employed in maintenance for the Markland Dam & Locks for 10 years. He was also a construction worker and welder for many years. He held membership in the Calvary Apostolic Church in Carrollton, Kentucky. Harold enjoyed the outdoors and carpentry work. Harold passed away at 10:15 p.m., Monday, December 2, 2019, at the Swiss Villa Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in Vevay, Indiana.

Harold will be missed by his wife, Geraldine M. (Kinman) Peelman of Vevay, IN; his daughters, Darlene Callis and her husband, Gene of Vevay, IN, Sandra Peelman of Carrollton, KY and Blanch Dixon and her husband, Tim of Vevay, IN; his son, Harold Peelman, Jr. and his wife, Janice of Vevay, IN; his 13-grandchildren; his 7-great-grandchildren; his brother, Leon Peelman of Vevay, IN; his sisters, Laverne Wagner and her husband, Sonny of Vevay, IN and Mary Lou Shaw of East Enterprise, IN and his numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father, Herbert Lee “Herb” Peelman; his mother, Blanche E. (Romans) Peelman Martin; his step-father, Oscar Roger Martin; his step-mother, Mary T. (Swango) Peelman; his brothers, Kenneth Peelman, Robert L. “Bob” Peelman, Johnny Peelman and Richard Charles “Rick” Peelman.

Friends may call 5:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m., Thursday, December 5, 2019, at the Calvary Apostolic Church, 1103 8th Street, Carrollton, Kentucky 41008.

Funeral services will be conducted Friday, December 6, 2019, at 1:00 p.m., by Pastor Miles Miller, at the Calvary Apostolic Church, 1103 8th Street, Carrollton, Kentucky 41008.

Interment and full military rites will be conducted by the Honor Guard of the Vevay American Legion Post #185 and the Vevay VFW Post #5396 in the Vevay Cemetery, Vevay, Indiana.
