Mr. Daniel Joseph McGlothin, affectionately known as Joe, age 69, of Mt. Sterling, Indiana, entered this life on July 29, 1955 in Dayton, Kentucky. He was the son of the late Teddy M. “Ted” McGlothin and Harvey Eugene and Pauline G. (Berkemeier) Black. He was raised in Dayton, Kentucky and Switzerland County, Indiana and attended the Switzerland County High School. Joe and Linda shared 18 years together and was united in marriage on November 7, 2024 at their home in Mt. Sterling, Indiana. Joe farmed all of his life raising cows, horses and hay. Joe was employed for North Bend Farms in Patriot, Indiana for several years. He was later employed for Hilltop Basic Resources in Patriot, Indiana for a few years. Joe retired in 2005 from US Filter Envirex in Madison, Indiana, after 25 years of service. Joe enjoyed farming, refurbishing tractors, hunting, fishing and watching IU basketball, Cincinnati Bengals and the Cincinnati Reds. His love for crafting extended into making beautiful cedarwood furniture. He found joy spending time with his family and friends and loved his cows, dining out and shopping at Rural King. Joe passed away at 9:01 p.m., Friday, November 22, 2024, at his home in Mt. Sterling, Indiana.
Joe will be lovingly remembered by his wife, Linda Sue (Sexton) McGlothin of Mt. Sterling, IN; his children, Karenza Kay Tuttle and her companion, Dallas of Moncks Corner, SC, Joseph Duane “Joey” McGlothin and his wife, LeaAnn of Aiken, SC and Jennifer Danielle McGlothin of Moncks Corner, SC; his grandchildren, Christopher “CJ” Tuttle, Coty Tuttle, Caleb McGlothin, Kaylea McGlothin and Kinslea McGlothin; his step-daughters, Amber Davis and her companion, Pete Conley of Means, KY and Sandy Davis and her companion, Bob Mullins of Sudith, KY; his step-grandchildren, Jacob Davis and his wife, Ashley, Timothy Hubbard, Spencer Hubbard and his wife, Tylar, Mason Lee Conley and Raylee Jolene Conley; his step-great-grandchildren, Zayne Lucas Davis, Gabriel Devon Davis, Navaia Sue Rayne Davis and Sylas Lee Hubbard; his sisters, Wanda Jean Campbell and her husband, Ken of Hanover, IN and Patty Leap and her husband, Davey of Vevay, IN; his sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Kathy and Chris French of Florence, KY; his special niece, Amber Garcia and her family of Louisville, KY and several other nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his father, Teddy M. “Ted” McGlothin, died August 3, 1999; his mother, Pauline G. (Berkemeier) Black, died December 28, 2005; his step-father that raised him, Harvey Eugene Black, died April 23, 2003; his infant-sister, Brenda Joyce McGlothin; his brothers, Richard John McGlothin, died February 10, 1988 and Edward Eugene Black, died July 9, 1972 and his step-grandson, Nathan Jaxton Ray Conley, died September 11, 2016.
Visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m., Saturday, November 30, 2024, at the Haskell & Morrison Funeral Home, 208 Ferry Street, Vevay, Indiana 47043.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, November 30, 2024, by Rev. Mike Jones, at the Haskell & Morrison Funeral Home, 208 Ferry Street, Vevay, Indiana 47043.
Interment will follow in the Vevay Cemetery, Vevay, Indiana.
