Mr. Charles Brennen “Chuck” Pickett, age 82, of Vevay, Indiana, entered this life on February 17, 1939 in Vevay, Indiana. He was the loving son of the late Joseph B. and Evelyn “Eva” (Romans) Pickett. He was raised in Switzerland County where he attended school. Charles was united in marriage to Alberta Avalon Wiley on November 15, 1969 in Vevay, Indiana. Chuck and Alberta shared 51 years of marriage together until she passed away on January 9, 2021. He was employed for the Switzerland County Highway Department for eight years, Pierson-Hollowell in Lawrenceburg, Indiana for several years and for SETA in Vevay, Indiana. Charles was a member of the Florence Church of Christ in Florence, Indiana. Charles enjoyed farming all of his life and watching westerns and John Wayne movies, gardening and spending time with his family. Chuck was a family man and had a big heart. He never met a stranger and enjoyed socializing with his family and friends and loved children. Chuck passed away at 10:02 a.m., Thursday, April 29, 2021, at The Waters of Clifty Falls in Madison, Indiana.
Charles will be missed by his daughter, Sheila Rininger and her husband, Casey of Vevay, IN; his step-son, Steven Fields and his wife, Anna of Rising Sun, IN; his grandchildren, Frank and Tiffany Rininger; his step-grandchildren, Clinton, Victoria, Jacob, Thomas, Casey and Brian; his great-grandson, Colton; his step-great-grandchildren, Lexi, Lily, Lacey, Bradley, Cameron, Brian, Corey, Bryce, Kaleb, Landon, Paige, Preslie and Paxton and his several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Alberta Avalon (Wiley) Pickett, died January 9, 2021; his father, Joseph Brennen Pickett, died July 19, 1962; his mother, Evelyn “Eva” (Romans) Pickett, died June 23, 1995; his sisters, Beulah Jane “Janie” Miller, died April 17, 1990, Mary K. Jones, died May 31, 2009 and Betty Jo Lewis, died July 31, 2010.
Visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m., Monday, May 3, 2021, at the Haskell & Morrison Funeral Home, 208 Ferry Street, Vevay, Indiana 47043.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 p.m., Monday, May 3, 2021, by Bro. Roy Duckworth, at the Haskell & Morrison Funeral Home, 208 Ferry Street, Vevay, Indiana 47043.
Interment will follow in the Florence Cemetery, Florence, Indiana.
