Mr. Carl Eugene “Bud” Hargrove

Mr. Carl Eugene “Bud” Hargrove, age 95, of Vevay, Indiana, entered this life on September 4, 1928 in Morristown, Indiana to Clarence A. and Rose Mae (Benifield) Hargrove. He was raised in Morristown, Indiana and was a 1941 graduate of Morristown High School. Bud was united in marriage to Betty M. Leap on December 19, 1970 at the Switzerland Baptist Church in Vevay, Indiana. Bud was a supervisor at Allison General Motors in Indianapolis, Indiana and retired after 30 years on June 1, 1981. After moving to Vevay permanently, he owned and operated Hargrove Sales and Service for many years. Bud enjoyed playing euchre and boating, but was happiest being in his garage. Bud passed away at 3:02 p.m., Saturday, May 4, 2024, at the Swiss Villa Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in Vevay, Indiana.

Bud will be missed by his wife of 53 years, Betty M. (Leap) Hargrove of Vevay, IN; his sons, Ronnie Hargrove of Madison, IN and George Hargrove of Tennessee; his step-daughter, Linda Jones of Vevay, IN; his step-son, Jerry Jewell and his wife, Robin of Rising Sun, IN; his several grandchildren and great-grandchildren and his many friends over the years.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Clarence A. and Rose Mae (Benifield) Hargrove; his step-mother, Anna Hargrove; his brothers, Denzil Hargrove and Richard Hargrove; his sisters, Evelyn Barber and Alice “Toots” Phares; his brother-in-law, Robert “Bob” Phares; his daughter, Cindy Hamilton; his son, Tom Hargrove and his grandson, John Jewell.

Visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m., Wednesday, May 8, 2024, at the Haskell & Morrison Funeral Home, 208 Ferry Street, Vevay, Indiana 47043.

Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday, May 8, 2024, at 1:00 p.m., by Pastor Larry Spoores at the Haskell & Morrison Funeral Home, 208 Ferry Street, Vevay, Indiana 47043.

Interment will follow in the Vevay Cemetery, Vevay, Indiana.
