Mr. Albert Leslie “Les” Reuter

Mr. Albert Leslie “Les” Reuter, age 81 of near Pleasant, Indiana, peacefully passed away at 9:10 p.m., Tuesday, April 9, 2024, at his residence. The son of Lester Reuter and Juanita (Trinkle) McEntire, Les grew up in northern Switzerland County and graduated from Vevay High School in 1960.

Known for his hard work, mechanical repair skills, love for International tractors and passion for horses, Les was a life-long farmer with multiple side enterprises ranging from hauling lime, roofing, bulldozing to building silos across area counties.

In 2008, the Farm Services Agency named Les Switzerland County Farmer of the Year. Les’ agricultural career primarily focused on tobacco, grain, cattle and alfalfa production. On Jan. 27, 1962, he was united in marriage to Linda Sue Brown. Twin daughters blessed this union of 54 years.

Les will be lovingly remembered by his daughters, Letha Engelman and her husband John of near Pleasant, IN and Retha Parsley and her husband Larry of Carmel, IN; his grandchildren, Taylor (Johnny), Lee (Lizzie), Lauren and Hayden; his great-grandson Canaan; his sisters, Ruthie Curry and her husband Arnold of Hanover, IN and Jo Ann Gullion and her husband Butch of Mt. Sterling, IN and his nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Linda Sue (Brown) Reuter on March 24, 2016; his brother Lloyd T. Reuter and his sister-in-law Charlotte L. (Elston) Reuter.

Family and friends will close Les’ gates to keep the cattle in, but never the Gate of Remembrance that recalls and cherishes Les Reuter’s passion for farming, multiple skills, signature ways, friendship and love.

Visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m., Saturday, April 20, 2024, at the Haskell & Morrison Funeral Home, 208 Ferry Street, Vevay, Indiana 47043.

Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, April 20, 2024, at the Haskell & Morrison Funeral Home, 208 Ferry Street, Vevay, Indiana 47043.

Interment will follow in the Grandview Memorial Gardens in Madison, Indiana.
