Morton L. “Dodo” Lee, age 87, Brookville

Morton Leslie “Dodo” Lee, age 87, of Brookville, Indiana died Saturday evening March 2, 2019 at his home surrounded by his family.

Born October 10, 1931 in Greensburg, Indiana he was one of two children born to the late Roy Edward & Hilda Marie (Swango) Lee. He was a U.S. Army Veteran of the Korean War, having served 18 Months captive as a Prisoner of War. He was awarded the Bronze Star Medal, Purple Heart, Presidential Unit Citation, Army of Occupation Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Good Conduct Medal and the United Nations Service Medal.

Before retirement, Dodo worked for many years as a Boilermaker. He was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles #1129 of Brookville, the Wilbur Dennison Post #2014 of the Veterans of Foreign Wars; as well as the Bernard Hurst Post #77 of the American Legion.

Survivors include one daughter, Vickie Ratliff of Laurel, Indiana; two sons, David Lee of Brookville, Indiana and Gary Lee of Harrison, Ohio; three step-children, Tony Franks of Pearland, Texas, Kenny Franks of Weatherford, Texas, and Connie LaBauve of Trinity, Texas; 12 grandchildren, Tonya White, William Ratliff, Misty Lewis, Jamie Lee, Lesley Lee, Rob Lee, Mick Lee, Angie Lee, Chris Lee, Jason Lee, Bo Barger, Justin Barger; 25 great-grandchildren; 7 great-great grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Betty J. Lee who died February 26, 2015; a son Eddie Lee who died February 12, 2015; as well as a sister Mable Suzanne Lee.

Family & friends may visit from 11:00 A.M. until 1:00 P.M. on Thursday, March 7, 2019 at Phillips & Meyers Funeral Home, 1025 Franklin Avenue, Brookville.

Rev. Rob Edwards will officiate the Funeral Services on Thursday, March 7, 2019, 1:00 P.M., at Phillips & Meyers Funeral Home. Burial with full military graveside honors by the Bernard Hurst Post #77 of the American Legion will follow in Sims Cemetery in New Fairfield, Indiana.
