Monica Hildebrand, age 78 of Sunman

Monica Ann Hildebrand, of Sunman, was born on January 2, 1947 in Vine Grove, Kentucky, a daughter to Denis and Alice Byerly Brown.  She married Marvin Hildebrand on October 14, 1972 in St. Leon and they shared 44 years together before his passing on January 10, 2017.  Monica earned her master’s degree in education from Ball State University and taught elementary school for Sunman Dearborn School Corporation for over 30 years.  In her spare time, she enjoyed reading, crosswords, scrapbooking, watching TV, drinking a Diet Coke and going on family vacations.  On January 27, 2025 at the age of 78, she passed away at Margaret Mary Health in Batesville, Indiana.

Left behind to cherish her memory is one daughter, Jennifer Gail Hildebrand; one son, Matthew William Hildebrand; grandson, Zane William Hildebrand; five siblings, Vivian Via, Cathy Casey, Vicky Finney, Robert Brown, Jack Brown, and various nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, Denis and Alice Brown, and her husband, she was preceded in death by one brother, Bill Brown.

Friends may gather and remember Monica with the family on Friday, January 31, 2025 from 4 until 7 p.m. at Cook Rosenberger Funeral Home, 107 Vine Street, Sunman.  Funeral services will be held on Saturday at 12 noon at St. Johns United Church of Christ, Penntown with burial immediately follow in the church cemetery.
