Monica C. (Weisenbach) Poole, passed peacefully on May 7, 2024 at Aspen Place.
Monica was born on December 19, 1926, in Morris, IN. The daughter of Aloysius and Josephine Weisenbach. After graduating from Oldenburg Academy, she went to St Louis for nursing school. After graduation Moni moved to Ft. Mitchell, KY to work at St Elizabeth Hospital. After several years she transferred to VA Hospital and retired from there after 30 years.
Monica was a big Reds fan and was a Rosie Reds Club member. She enjoyed traveling to opening days in Florida and supporting the team at Crosley Field. She was always keeping busy by traveling, volunteering, and square dancing, which is where she met her husband, casinos playing cards, and was a crossword puzzle whiz. She loved her family and friends, especially her neighbors Linda and Rhonda Bunch, so many fond memories.
After her sister passed in 2016, she relocated to Aspen Place in Greensburg which was her home for 7 ½ years.
Moni was married to Thomas Poole, and he preceded her in death in 2001, her parents, brother Raphael, sisters Agnes Hortemiller and Rita Wahl and nephew Bob Hortemiller. Surviving is nephew Bill Hortemiller. Nieces, Marilyn Davis, Carolyn Dieckmann and Mary Beth Dickman, 14 great nieces and nephews as well as many great-great nieces and nephews and close friend Rhonda Bunch.
A Funeral Mass will be held on Wednesday, May 15, 2024, at 10:00am at St Mary’s Catholic Church in Greensburg with Father John Meyer officiating.
