Minnie “Janie” (Powell) Fischer, 71, of Lawrenceburg, Indiana, passed away Friday, May 20, 2022.
She was born April 20, 1951, in Stanton, KY, daughter of the late Lemon Seldon Powell and Edith (Hall) Powell.
Janie worked as a cook for Kennett Truck Stop, with over 12 years of service.
Janie was a former member of the AM VetsAuxiliary Post #17 in Versailles, Indiana.
She loved to travel, flower gardening and visiting “down home” in Kentucky. Janie loved to mow the yard, she always wanted a neat yard. She loved spending time with her family, Janie was spoiled by her kids and husband.
Janie is survived by her loving spouse Charles Fischer, children, Tonya (Zackary) Craven of Aurora, IN, Debra Adams of Rising Sun, IN, Anthony Lairson (Adam Crabtree) of Lexington, KY, Stephanie Fischer, Jennifer Fischer, Stacey Fischer, and Melissa Fischer; siblings, Barbara Steward of Deputy, IN, Kenneth “Dock” Powell of Lawrenceburg, IN and Glenville Powell of Stanton, KY; 11 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren
She was preceded in death by her parents Lemon and Edith; and several siblings.
Friends will be received Tuesday, May 24, 2022, 5:00 pm – 8:00 pm at the Rullman Hunger Funeral Home, 219 Mechanic Street, Aurora, IN.
Services will be held at St. Paul Lutheran Church, 5588 E. Co Rd. 900 S. Cross Plains, IN on Wednesday at 11:00 am with Pastor Jared Tucher officiating.
Interment will follow in the Dewberry Cemetery, Cross Plains, Indiana.
