WRBI talked to Millhousen Fire Department Cheif, Andy Witkemper, about the rescue.

Greensburg fire officials say that they were called to assist Marion Township, as they have the proper equipment and training for an ice rescue.

Fire officials remind everybody to stay off of the ice to rescue an animal that falls through.

Call 911 immediately and do not attempt to rescue yourself.

If an animal goes though, the ice is not strong enough to support the weight of a human.
