INDIANAPOLIS – House Speaker Brian Bosma (R-Indianapolis) announced leadership appointments for the Indiana House Republican Caucus and committee chairs for the Indiana House of Representatives.
State Rep. Jud McMillin (R-Brookville) was appointed House Majority Floor Leader for the 2015 General Assembly. This will be his first year serving in the role.
“Representing our community in the General Assembly is a great honor and a responsibility I take very seriously,” said Rep. McMillin.
“I consider every day an opportunity to improve southeast Indiana, and with the legislative session right around the corner, I look forward to building on the progress we have made and continuing my work to move our communities forward.”
McMillin has also been tabbed as vice-chairman of the Rules and Legislative Procedures Committee.
State Rep. Randy Frye (R-Greensburg) will serve as chairman of the Veterans Affairs and Public Safety Committee during the upcoming General Assembly.
State Rep. Cindy Ziemke (R-Batesville) is appointed to the Family, Children and Human Affairs Committee as vice-chairman.
Committees receive public testimony and work out the details of proposed legislation before it is heard on the House floor.
