Maxine (Lancaster) Boyd, 92, of Hardin County, Kentucky, passed away Monday, March 16, 2026, at the Waters of Dillsboro. Maxine was born on Monday, July 31, 1933, in Hardin County, Kentucky; daughter of James and Eunice (Shelton) Lancaster. She was married to Richard Boyd who preceded her in death. Maxine worked in health care as a caregiver and personal assistant. She enjoyed sewing and crocheting. Her great passion was singing. She sang for military families while stationed in Okinawa, Japan. Most of all Maxine loved her family.
Maxine will be missed by her sons Michael D. Brown of Kentucky and Leslie E. Brown of Arizona; daughters Sandra (Armand) Arce of Rising Sun, Karen Boyd Crabtree of Kentucky, and Linda Boyd Mock of Kentucky; brother Nelson Hopkins of Kentucky; sister Linda Murphy of Georgia; 9 grandchildren; and several great grandchildren.
Maxine was preceded in death by her parents James and Eunice Lancaster; husband Richard Boyd; son Mark Brown; brother James Lancaster; and sister Shirley Minton.
There are no services at this time. Memorials may be given in honor of Maxine to the donor’s choice.
