(Osgood, IN) – The baseball field lights at Jac-Cen-Del High School were left on Friday night in memory of Matt Stone (pictured).
The 58-year-old Stone passed away last Thursday.
He was a Wabash native and 1986 graduate of Hebron High School.
Stone coached the Jac-Cen-Del boys varsity basketball from 1994 to 2002.
He compiled a 91-81 record as coach of the Eagles, including sectional and regional championships during the 1999-2000 season.
Stone departed Osgood and ultimately found his way to Wabash High School, where he worked 24 years as a seven-sport varsity coach, athletic director, and served as the Chief Financial Officer for Wabash City Schools.
The Wabash School Corporation honored Stone’s memory by leaving the lights on overnight Friday into Saturday at all outdoor sports venues.
