Mary Lou Furlow, 89, of Dillsboro, Indiana, passed away Thursday, September 22, 2022.
Mary was born November 14, 1932, in Cincinnati, OH, daughter of the late Claude Slayback and Julia (Kohus) Slayback.
She loved to travel with her late husband, they were known to sometimes be gone from a month to six weeks. She enjoyed Nascar and crossword puzzles. She loved to raise flowers and go to auctions and yard sales with George. Mary was an excellent cook and baker and she enjoyed family gatherings with a big meal.
Mary is survived by her children, Robert “Bob” Shannon of Rising Sun, IN, Debbie (Steve) James of Patriot, IN, Kevin (Carla) Shannon of Rising Sun, IN and daughter in law, Jenny (late Tim) Shannon; sister, Judy Slayback Stuard; half sister, Shirley Morris; several grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Mary was preceded in death by parents, Claude and Julia Slayback; husband, George Furlow; son, Tim Shannon; siblings, Almeda Sheets, Nettie Clark, Claude Slayback Jr., James Slayback; half brother, Dennis Slayback.
A graveside service will be held on Friday, October 7, 2022 at 1:00 pm at River View Cemetery, Aurora, Indiana.
