Mary Kathleen “Kathy” (Scott) Niebrugge, 73, of Dillsboro passed away Wednesday, May 28, 2025, at University of Cincinnati Hospital. Kathy was born on Thursday, October 25, 1951, in Milan; daughter of Robert “Bobby” Scott and Mary (Elder) Scott. Kathy married the love of her life, Fred Niebrugge, in 1972, and he survives her. Kathy worked at TC’s in Dillsboro and was a past member of the Trinity Lutheran Church. She loved the Kentucky Derby and would host yearly parties with her family and friends to celebrate. She enjoyed spending time painting and doing crafts. She also had a love for gardening and going to and having yard sales. Kathy’s greatest passion was spending time and making memories with her beloved family and friends.
Kathy will be missed by her husband Fred Niebrugge of Dillsboro; son Ronnie (Aliesha) Niebrugge of Dillsboro; daughters Michele “Shelly” (Brian) Brown-Roth of Dillsboro and Christina “Chrissy” (Doug) Heller of Moores Hill; brothers Danny (Sharon) Scott of Tennessee, Gary (Gayla) Scott of Kentucky, and Rob Scott of Dillsboro; sister Margaret “Peggi” LaGreca of Kentucky; 7 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
Kathy was preceded in death by her parents Bobby and Mary Scott.
Family and friends may gather in remembering Kathy from 10:00 AM-12:00 PM, Monday, June 2, 2025, at the Filter-DeVries-Moore Funeral Home in Dillsboro. Burial will follow at Oakdale Cemetery. Memorials may be given in honor of Kathy to the family.
