Martha L. Bettner Blanford Bullard, 99, of Greensburg, moved into God’s loving arms on September 21, 2022. She was born on July 17, 1923 in New Castle, Indiana the daughter of Carl F. and Bertha E. Short Bettner. She graduated from St. Paul High School in 1942. She married James C. Blanford, and together they had four sons, he preceded her in death on December 11, 1990. Martha learned to drive at the age of 52 and she loved the freedom of taking small trips. She worked at Waldron Die Co. for 33 years and was a part owner. She had various other jobs along the way. She enjoyed attending Cornerstone Christian Fellowship Church, when she was able. Her grandchildren were the light of her life. Sewing, coloring and bird watching brought her great happiness. On May 13, 2003, at 80 years old she married her High School sweetheart, Jim Bullard. He preceded her in death on March 31, 2013. Martha was always concerned with the welfare of others. Conquering life’s struggles with humor, kindness and faith was a great example to others.
Survivors include: son, Ronald (Devona) Blanford, daughter in laws, Mrs. Donald (Barbara) Blanford and Mrs. Roger (Diana) Blanford, all of Greensburg; brother, Howard E. Bettner; sisters, Rosemary Ricketts and Betty Remmler; seven grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren; and 13 great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husbands, sons, Richard A. Blanford, Donald E. Blanford, and Roger A. Blanford; three grandchildren; three sisters and four brothers.
A visitation for family and friends will be held at the Gilliland-Howe Funeral Home on Thursday, October 13, 2022 from 3:00 pm until 7:00 pm. A funeral service will be Friday, October 14, 2022 at 10:00 am. Rev. George Mitchell will be officiating. Burial will follow at the South Park Cemetery.
