Marilyn J. Fink, 96

Marilyn J. Fink, 96, passed away on Friday, March 25, 2022, at Heritage House Rehabilitation & Healthcare Center in Connersville. Marilyn was born on September 17, 1925, in Richmond, Indiana, to Glenn and Marguerite (Gallimore) Riggs.

Marilyn graduated in 1944 from Connersville High School. She married Otho Fink on January 25, 1947, after he returned from serving in WW II. Otho preceded her in death on May 17, 2017.

Marilyn held various jobs throughout her life and enjoyed working with the public: hair stylist, co-owner of English Flower Shop, receptionist for both the Connersville News Examiner and optometrist Dr. Don MacDaniel. She was a member of St. Gabriel Catholic Church. Marilyn was also very active in Eta Pi Kappa Sorority for many years.

Marilyn is loved and survived by her four children and their families: Sue (Denny) Gunckel, Pat (Bob) Hunger, Nancy (Mike) Porter, and Frank Fink; grandchildren Denise (Karl) Griffin, Sara (Dustin) Marshall, Lyndsay (Mike) Rensing, Matt (Leann) Porter, Mariah (Alex) Brehm, Joni (Keith) Kreiger, and Travis (Amy) Fink. Great-grandchildren are Lauren, Alex, Emma, Gabe, Jules, Stella, Addy, Ruby, Louie, Owen, and Elliot. Also surviving Marilyn is her brother Richard “Dick” Riggs of Bellevue, Nebraska.

In addition to Marilyn’s parents and husband, she was preceded in death by two brothers William “Bill” and Robert “Bob” Riggs of Connersville.

Family and friends will gather at 8:30 a.m. on Wednesday, March 30, 2022, at St. Gabriel Catholic Church in Connersville to pray the rosary. Visitation will follow the rosary from 9 to 11:00 a.m. at St. Gabriel Catholic Church. A funeral Mass will be held at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. John Meyer officiating. Interment will be held at Riverside Cemetery in Cambridge City.  Memorials may be made to St. Gabriel Church and/or Beacon of Hope (building fund) at St. Gabriel Church.
