(Greensburg, IN) – Main Street Greensburg has been designated as a nationally accredited Main Street America program.
Executive Director Allison Beck says this prestigious recognition is a testament to the organization’s commitment to fostering economic development, commitment to revitalization, and enhancing the quality of life in downtown Greensburg.
She adds the accreditation highlights Main Street Greensburg’s exemplary performance in meeting the rigorous standards set forth by the national organization.
These standards include benchmarks in program governance, leadership, partnerships, engagement, and innovative programming.
“We are ecstatic to receive this designation,” said Beck. “This accreditation reflects the hard work and dedication of our staff, volunteers, local businesses, and community partners. Together, we are making downtown Greensburg a vibrant place to live, work, and visit.”
Over the past year, the organization has welcomed new businesses, assisted in two large revitalization projects, and was awarded $50-thousand to grant to small businesses.
The National American Main Street accreditation is a milestone that underscores the organization’s impact and sets the stage for continued success. Accredited Main Street programs play a vital role in economic and community development nationwide. Collectively, these programs have generated billions of dollars in reinvestment, created thousands of new jobs, and supported small businesses across the country.
