Senior Bradley Lutz converted a three-point play with six seconds remaining to lead the Greensburg boys basketball team to a 49-48 win over Columbus East 49-48 Tuesday night in Greensburg. Lutz was fouled on a drive to the basket with the Pirates trailing 48-46 in the waning seconds. Lutz made a difficult layup and converted the free throw to give the Pirates the lead. The Olympians missed a last-second three-point shot to give the Pirates the win. Jack McKinsey and Justin Adkins scored 11 points each to lead the Pirates. Lutz scored 9 points. Columbus East’s Carter Patterson led all scorers with 23 points. The Pirates head to Christmas break with a 4-2 record. They return to the court on Dec. 28 at Richmond in the Bob Wetting Tournament. The Pirates play their first game in the tournament at noon against Scecina.
