Luster ‘Chuck’ Charles, 93, Brookville

Luster ‘Chuck’ Charles, age 93, of Brookville, Indiana died Saturday evening, November 15, 2025 at his residence in Brookville following a lengthy illness.

Born September 1, 1932 in Beattyville, Kentucky he was the son of the late Jake & Eunice (Roberts) Charles.  On November 4, 1972 he was united in marriage to the former Ann S. Henry, and she preceded him in death on January 29, 2015. He was a United States Army Veteran of the Korean Conflict.

Chuck was retired, having worked for many years in construction, factory work, and at Butler County Civil Defense.  In his leisure time he enjoyed fishing, gardening, canning, taking care of his property, as well as time spent with his family.

He was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, the American Legion, Disabled American Veterans, and the AMVETS.

Survivors include four children, Patricia Charles of Minnesota, Tressa (Tony) Yetter, Cynthia (Mark) Bright, and Jonathon (Andria) Charles all of Brookville, Indiana; 7 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, and wife Ann, he was preceded in death by a son Norman Charles who died in 1997, as well as 7 siblings.

Family & friends may visit from 5 until 7:00 P.M. on Wednesday, November 19, 2025 at Phillips & Meyers Funeral Home, 1025 Franklin Avenue, Brookville.

Pastor Joe Hart will officiate the Funeral Service at 11:00 A.M., Thursday, November 20, 2025 at Phillips & Meyers Funeral Home.  Burial with full military graveside honors by the Bernard Hurst Post #77 of the American Legion will follow in Maple Grove Cemetery.
