Lucy Ann Brown, 76

Lucy Ann Brown of Greensburg passed away on September 27, 2022 at the age of 76. She was born on June 29, 1946 in Richmond, Indiana, the daughter of Roy E. and Agnes (Worl) Koontz. Lucy was a 1964 graduate of Rushville High School where she played clarinet and loved participating in the marching band. On January 24, 1965, she married Steven K. Brown. Afterward, she stayed home to raise their two daughters. She enjoyed sewing and made all of her daughters’ clothes when they were little. Lucy was an avid gardener and loved growing flowers. As a devoted grandma, she loved watching her grandkids do anything: softball, soccer, dog shows, horse shows, academic team, choir, band, and drama performances. It was a personal hobby of Lucy’s to spoil her grandkids. She worked at Arby’s for the last 25 years, ever since the Arby’s in Greensburg opened. Many people will remember her as the voice of the drive thru.

Lucy was a member of First Christian Church for 33 years and a founding memory of the Community Church of Greensburg. She was involved in the Order of the Eastern Star, the Emmaus community, and the Lions Club. 4-H was also an important part of her life, being a 10-year 4-H member and a leader of the 4-H dog club for many years. Lucy loved to travel with her husband Steven on his quest to see all 50 states. They also visited many national parks and toured many countries. Lucy said that her favorite trip was Alaska.
