Louis Eddie Schwade, 70, of Switzerland County, IN, passed away at 12:33 AM, Tuesday, December 21st, 2021 at St. Elizabeth Dearborn in Lawrenceburg, IN. Louis was born in Jackson, Michigan on January 8, 1951, a son of the late Shiela (Clautier) Schwade and Eddie Schwade. He attended Jackson High School and received an Associate’s Degree from Jackson Community College. Louis proudly served his country in the US Army during the Vietnam War and was a member of the Vevay VFW, Post 5396 and the Rising Sun American Legion, Post 59. Louis was the husband of Sally (Weiss) Schwade. Louis and Sally were together over 47 years until his passing. Louis worked at the Jackson Water Department in Michigan and was superintendent at the Patriot Water Department in Indiana. He also had been employed as a prison guard for ten years in Jackson, MI and La Grange, KY. Louis was a faithful member of the Vevay Assembly Church. Louis loved farming and taking care of his cattle and horses accompanied by his beloved dog, Barney.
Louis is survived by his loving wife Sally Schwade, of Switzerland County, IN; by his daughter, Brenda Warren and husband Doug, of Jerome, Michigan; by his three sons Josh Schwade and wife Kristy, of Tampa, FL; Ron Schwade, of Jackson, MI and Joe Schwade and wife Sally, of Hanover, MI; by six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Louis is also survived by two sisters, Lonnie Fritz, of Jackson, MI and Genevieve Sloan, of Vevay, IN and by a brother, Larry Seeger and wife Susan, of Arcata, CA. Louis was preceded in death by his parents, by his son Jeff Schwade and by his grandson Kaleb Schwade.
Visitation will be held 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM on Wednesday, December 29th at the Vevay Assembly Church at 721 Main St. in Vevay, IN. Funeral services will follow at 1 PM with Pastor G.B. Turner officiating. Burial with military honors will be at Eastview Cemetery in Patriot, IN. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Vevay Assembly Church.
