The D1P 17u boys basketball team won the Midwest Youth Tournament’s Season Finale Championship this past weekend in Franklin. In the championship contest D1P defeated Hoop Club from Evansville, IN 68-43 to earn the crown. Andrew Bowman was a force on the inside scoring 23 points. Cayden Drake tallied 17, Drake Skaggs 16, Karson Templeton 8 and Evan Lewis 4.In a hard fought semi-final, the squad held off a late possession to tie and defeated Indiana’s Finest from Orleans, IN 55-52. Skaggs had 14, Bowman posted 12 points, Drake 11, Lewis 8, Jonah Helmich 7, and Templeton 3.
The young men now move to (18-11) on the season and will resume tournament play in Mid-August.
