Batesville, IN — Beta Sigma Phi sorority’s Batesville chapter continued the tradition of presenting a set of Dr. Seuss books to any family whose baby was born at Margaret Mary Health on March 2.

The late Theodor Seuss Geisel, who wrote and illustrated books under the pen name “Dr. Suess,” was born on March 2, 1904.

Two babies were born that day at Margaret Mary Health – a boy and a girl.

Sorority members say the idea behind this annual outreach is to enrich children with the gift of lifelong learning and the joy of reading.
