Local Counties To Receive FEMA Funds After Spring Storms

(Statewide) – President Donald Trump has approved a major disaster declaration for the State of Indiana to supplement recovery efforts in areas affected by severe storms, straight line winds, tornados and flooding between March 30 and April 9 of this year.

Franklin and Decatur counties are among nearly two dozen in Indiana eligible for public assistance federal funding to local governments and certain non-profit organizations.

Bartholomew, Brown, Clark, Crawford, Floyd, Greene, Harrison, Jefferson, Lawrence, Madison, Marshall, Martin, Montgomery, Morgan, Orange, Owen, Perry, Switzerland, Vanderburgh, Warrick and Washington counties are the others included in the declaration.

Joseph P. Cirone has been named as the Federal Coordinating Officer for federal recovery operations in the affected area.

The Federal Emergency Management Agency says additional designations may be made at a later date if requested by the state and warranted by the results of further damage assessments.
