Linda spent many years working at Delta Faucet before retiring in 2008, but her true life’s work was the love and care she poured into her family, her home, and the little joys that made life beautiful.
She was the heart of her family. Her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren were her pride and joy. She had a playful spirit and a wonderful sense of humor, earning the well-deserved title of “professional porch sitter,” by her family. She was always ready to relax, chat, and soak in the moment. She never passed up a chance to join in on a Nerf gun battle or a lively pillow fight with her grandchildren, and she made even the simplest moments feel special.
Linda was well known for her beautiful garden she cared for meticulously year after year, admired by many throughout Greensburg. She found peace in tending to her flowers and great joy in watching hummingbirds flutter around the feeders she faithfully kept filled.
She also had a flair for fun, whether it was indulging in a little retail therapy (especially adding to her ever-growing shoe collection), or making sure her nails were always perfectly done, usually in her signature shade of red.
A true Christmas connoisseur, Linda delighted in decorating her home for the season, creating a magical and welcoming space for her family to gather and celebrate her favorite holiday together.
She loved traveling, particularly to the beach, and cherished the memories of her trip to Hawaii with her daughters, Bridgette and Sherri.
Game nights with Linda were never dull. She was famously competitive which was always apparent during family games of Aggravation—where she played to win and never hesitated to (lovingly) accuse her sister Marth of cheating.
Linda had a deep love for the family dogs, most notably her beloved dog, Corki Lou, who held a special place in her heart and was lovingly laid to rest in her treasured garden.
She is now joyfully reunited in heaven with her husband, Danny Strasburger, whom she married on December 21, 1966; her sister, Charlotte “Marth” Peterson; and siblings, Doris McFarland, Sheldon Melton, Grady Melton, and Kenneth Melton.
Linda is survived by her loving family: her daughter and son-in-law, Bridgette and Phil (Leroy) Brown; granddaughter Taylor and husband Byron Harris, along with great-grandchildren Zira and Zaiden; granddaughter Sara Brown and partner Randy Sanders, along with great-grandchild Aria Jade; her daughter and son-in-law, Sherri and Rick Anderson; grandson Daniel and wife Natalie Anderson; granddaughter Lizzie and husband Rayden Anderson; grandson Matthew Anderson; as well as several nieces and nephews.
Linda’s life was filled with laughter, warmth, and love. She leaves behind a legacy of joy, strong family bonds, and countless cherished memories that will live on in all who knew her.
Her porch may be quiet now, but her memory will echo on in our hearts forever.
