Lillian Doris (Reese) Merida, 78, of Milan passed away Monday, June 15, 2026, at Margaret Mary Health in Batesville. Lillian was born on Saturday, May 15, 1948, in Woodbine, Kentucky; daughter of Elbert and Nancy (Worley) Reese. She married the love of her life, Calvin B. Merida, on June 28, 1969, and he survives her. Lillian worked as a laborer for 13 years at Federal Mogul and was a member of Dearborn Baptist Church. She enjoyed reading, cooking, and baking. Lillian loved spending time with her family and spending time with her loving husband.
Lillian will be missed by her husband Calvin Merida of Milan; sons Calvin “Wesley” Merida of Milan, Jason K. (Jennifer) Merida of Milan, and Eric (Matthew) Ray Merida of Indianapolis; daughter Melissa Merida of Milan; sisters Betty Richmond of Indianapolis and Donna Farber of Indianapolis; 16 grandchildren; and 25 great-grandchildren.
Lillian was preceded in death by her parents Elbert and Nancy Reese; son George JR. Meadors; grandson Alec Meadors; great-grandson Jayce; brothers Floyd and Charles Reese; and sisters Ima Jean Love, Ethel Sexton, Geraldine Rogers, and Joann Helton.
Family and friends may gather in remembering Lillian from 12:00-3:00 PM, Friday, June 19, 2026, at the Laws-Carr-Moore Funeral Home in Milan. Services will immediately follow at 3:00 PM with Pastor Gordon Shinkle officiating. Burial will follow at Hogan Hill Cemetery. Memorials may be given in honor of Lillian to Dearborn Baptist Church. The family would like to invite everyone back to Dearborn Baptist Church following the burial for a meal and fellowship.
